your car thinks it's in 4th gear because the engine is running to fast for how fast you are going so it's telling to you shift in to the higher gear that is no longer there because you put a DX transmision in.
The way to fix this is to put a transmision in with the proper gearing.

Older civic FE's and CRX HF's used a back up switch with a 2nd set of contacts in it so it could tell if you were in 5th gear, the vx however has the ECU monitor engine speed and vehicle speed and stops turning on the up shift light when the engine speed and vehicle speed show that you are in 5th gear.
