None of what you state is true.
It is not cleaner. it does NOT help with domestic supply and its NOT renewable any more easily than Oil is.
First with a car DESIGNED to run on ethanol its SLIGHTLY cleaner. maybe but only if you COMPLETELY ignore the pollution on the Production side of the equation. If you goal is to actually reduce pollution you can't ignore this.
Domestic Supply? you do realize that for some what 75% or greater the cars on the road it INCREASES demand for foreign oil.
10 gallons of E10
REMOVE the Ethanol and you get 1 gallon of Ethanol and 9 Gallons of Gas.
I can go FURTHER on 9 gallons of gasoline than I can on 10 gallons of E10.
Think about that for a moment. Think about the implications of that.
Let us also not forget that Ethanol production using in DISGUSTING MASSIVE INSANE QUANTITIES another resource even more valuable and rare than OIL is.
FRESH WATER. and it has to be FRESH WATER salt water won't work.
they using simply preposterous amounts of fresh water to MAKE ethanol.
there is NO upside to ethanol unless your taxing it or your grow it.
For everyone else its nothing but downside.
Ethanol BY DEFINITION can not save you money. it can ONLY cost you money.
