yep, the 3.0 vulcan, one of Fords better engine (in my personal opinion)
Im not sure about the gearing, but most likely it is stock, the trans is a 4spd w OD.
I do have the aluminum driveshaft (bonus !) but I am unsure about an aluminum hood.
the taller tires have def helped, I saw a slight increase in mpg as soon as I put them on. a couple yrs ago, I went with a smaller diameter (60 instead of 70) and saw a noticeable decrease in mpg, so when it was time I went back to the 70 ratio.
I havent heard about the efan catching on fire, several people on ranger-forums have done the mod with no ill effects, could it be in how it was wired up ?
