I would slap on a strip of aluminum flashing between the coroplast and the exhaust system. I found out on my setup that part of the problem wasn't when I was driving but after I had come to a stop and shut down. The radiant heat from the muffler was enough to melt the coroplast even though it was over 4" away and since there wasn't any airflow to keep the temps down
