I think washing the car is a lot like keeping the oil changed, checking the fluids, the air pressure, tyre condition, etc. Just good preventative maintenance that rewards you with a longer lasting vehicle. Of course, all my vehicles are pushing 200k miles too, so PMing the machine is a neccesity.
