Slight disagreement here. The biggest "mod" is the adjustment behind the wheel. Fuel savings is fuel savings, no matter the modificaction and my modifications are fairly extreme - every vehicle I drive has a diesel engine that returns 30% better economy than a gasser.
And I also plan to do some aero and other fuel-saving mods to my Beetle; a spoiler, an EGR defeat, belly pans and a diffuser.
