^^ you're forgetting more sensetive detection equipment on the ground. nowadays we can tell when a butterfly lands 5k miles away by the siesmic waves rippling out from it's landing. OK exaggerating a little but they are 'quakes
I've seen more than a few "the end is coming" groups use that as evidence and I think 'seriously guys, stick some silly putty between your ears and you'll be better off.'
