If you find yourself warping brake rotors and/or going through brake pads quickly, you can always machine some symetrical holes in the aluminum discs for additional cooling if necessary.

FWIW, I used to sell unvented "Kleen Wheels" dust shields back in the `80s. Only a few of my clients had mild brake overheating issues with them. Then again, "Kleen Wheels" shields fit inside the wheel and 'capture' more heat close to the caliper. Granted, all depends on the vehicle & driving conditions but I'd say as long as you're aware of the possibility and remain light on the brake pedal, you'll be ok.
