well, if you get the exploder with the 3.55's your going to see a drop of RPM and it will improve your FE, but you will still be slow.

my old 99 3.0L ranger's RPm @ 80mph (only comparison I can remember off the top of my head) was 2900, it had the 4 spd auto w/ OD.
I had a few mods for better air flow and still could barely pull out 25mpg hwy. if drafting a semi, I could get upwards of 27mpg, but around where I live, its not easy staying behind one as they dont stay on the road long.

which is why Im skeptical of anyone's claims of a heavier vehicle that has a bigger engine, getting better FE than I was able to accomplish.
