Three words: Rear Main Seal. The early ones have had significant problems with them, and if they are bad enough the engine can die. Not sure about the trans.
I am guessing that you'll have an interesting time fitting the Pruis drivetrain in the back of the Box. It is set up for a longitudinal-mounted drivetrain; the engine is in front of the transaxle. The Prius has a transverse-mounted drivetrain. It is probably taller and will be further back in the car than the stock engine. I wonder how much room it needs side to side?
It would be a very cool conversion, though!
