144V charger

I built a 144V, 12A charger from two 36V golf cart chargers by opening the half wave secondarys and reconnecting them in series to make each of the 36 volt chargers 72V. Connecting the two 72V in series they make 144V. Add a full wave rectifier and you've got a 144V, 12-1/2A charger.

I added a large variac, fans, relay and a 10 hour adjustable timer along with an ammeter and voltmeter... oh, and wheels.

Works great and charges my 120V Fiero or the 144V E-10 from 120V AC.

Not the fastest but the total cash outlay was under $200.
