Just an FYI,

I've been riding small bore singles all my life. The bottom line with MPG's is that there is little difference between a 250cc single and a 650cc single, when ridden at the same speeds. At one time I owned 8 bikes.

At fuel stops (when in group rides) they all consumed roughly the same quantity of fuel. From the 100cc bikes, all the way up to the 600cc singles. With one clear exception. A 1981 Honda XR250 (with the old school single, 4 valve engine). For what ever reason, that bike consumed somewhat less fuel, every time.
