At fuel stops (when in group rides) they all consumed roughly the same quantity of fuel. From the 100cc bikes, all the way up to the 600cc singles. With one clear exception. A 1981 Honda XR250 (with the old school single, 4 valve engine). For what ever reason, that bike consumed somewhat less fuel, every time.

part of the reason for that, if not all the reason, is that a 250 single is working alot harder to maintain that speed, atleast speeds over 45-50 mph, therefore using alot more fuel than it should. at 30-35 mph, the 250 wins hands down.
