Actually, it was not the whole bumber that I ended up removing, just the bumper cover, which is the part of the assembly we see as the bumper. But it is lightweight and not very difficult to remove or replace. The attachment of wire for the block is effective and simple, but I wanted something a little more stealthy and so I wanted to install the coroplast behind the plastic facing of the upper grille in particular (because it is so conspicuous. All that holds that coroplast in is the pressure of the assembly screwed back together, like a sandwich. The "sandwich" approach required removing the bumper cover. It took three tries to cut the coroplast to fit that very tight spot. And to be honest, I am not satisfied. I plan to do it again with thinner 2mm coroplast. For the upper block, if you do what I did, I greatly recommend the thinnest coroplast you can find. Mine was 4mm and it worked, but the 2mm I wanted but could not find yet would have been better.
