In Europe we most often use the Yield-sign .
The only difference to a stop sign, is that it doesn't oblige you to stop if stopping isn't necessary.

If you drive through a yield sign and cause an accident, it's a prima facie case. (Obviously you didn't yield.) In other words,
there isn't anything for them to litigate. God forbid the idea should catch on and become popular...
