The journey is all dual carriageway (2 lanes each way) or motorway (3 lanes each way). With the fuel price hike I've noticed cars drive more slowly now, which I find makes hypermiling easier.
Techniques:
Target speed 60mph indicated.
Slow slightly going uphill, maybe down to 50mph where traffic allows.
Coast down hills where I can maintain at least 55mph, otherwise back off the throttle to maximise mpg.
Coast whenever possible to junctions.
Accelerate slowly when joining carriageway (as slow as possible allowing for traffic)
The only time I accelerate hard is to avoid lorries tailgating, some want to do 65mph and overtake me so I'll back off and let them go.
