My problem with this is that is I love numbers (not for math , just information). It is the fact that automakers began putting lights instead of gauges into vehicles that people now have a minimal understanding of the functioning of their engine, hence the term "dummy light". As a pilot, I enjoy having some form of readout to tell me how every aspect of a vehicle is functioning, no matter how cluttered the instrument panel is. Scangauge fits this purpose quite nicely. Observing the RPM over the MAP gauge, with the MPG and AVG gauges on the other side are quite effective at providing the feedback that I need to keep my engine in it's most efficient range. The only drawback with SG is the slight delay between readings, analog gauges provide much better resolution for engine monitoring.
