aero84- you may be onto something- these old cars just keep tooling along, and I cna get 30+ UK mpg out it if I try.. but the real fun is in the grunt from 2000rpm- makes it "lively" in the twisties
Oh i'm gonna have to disagree on the "not as nice power delivery"

stump pulling torque down low and yet it still screams up to the redline...very nice linear pull...and man they sound great!

thats my old 530i Touring with the 3L v8 (that was a horrible engine...) swapped out to a 4L V8 and the autotragic swapped out with the 530i 5spd manual...thing hauled ass for a 3800lbs car and i had the opportunity to run a 1991 M5 and reeled him...so yay for me!
