I really doubt the .1gph figure, too. I have a 2.0 liter Acura. When fully warmed up it uses .24-.27gph. However, when I first start it, it uses. .37-.41gph when the engine is in warm up mode. I'd suspect your little 1.8L engine is using .19-.23 warmed up.
Regardless, I'm seeing a solid 1.5-2mpg bump since I started EOC. Try it. If you don't notice a bump, don't bother. If you do, well, it's that much less money you're feeding into the machine.
