I've often wondered this. Most references I see, say that tach speed in a diesel is taken off the alternator. However, I have an Isuzu pickup diesel with no tachometer.
When I took it to a vehicle check station the mechanic hooked a device that looked like an induction coil over one of the injectors to get his tachometer reading.
Would that be possible on your Suzuki? I assume the system would need independent injectors, and some kind of signal amplifier for the induction method.
Any further ideas?
