2002 Civic EX 4DR auto. Project

Just starting on my Civic. Backstory is I ended up with a 240K mile civic with a bad automatic trans after my daughter decided to get a another car instead of fixing it. After several months of being a yard ornament I decided to get it fixed an drive it myself. To my suprise it knocked down 39 mpg on my second tank. I am more enthused about the car now. I plan to go through the mods and use this thread to post projects, results and get suggestions on more mods, especially 02 civic specific mods. Anyway, my first two mods have been simple weight reductions and tire pressure. I maxed the tires to 44 psi. Weight reduction was a bit more interesting. I removed a flashlight(2lbs),lunchcooler(2.4lbs),a heavy wintercoat(4.6lbs),workboots(4.4lbs,I plan leaving them at work),cd's(2lbs),two foldup chairs(14lbs!),sparetire(26lbs),jack and handle/wrench(3.8lbs),crate of assorted auto fluids(12.8lbs),tire hardboard cover and carpet cover(8lbs),two sets of floor mats(11.8lbs,I don't know why there were two sets),assorted small loose items(.5 lbs) for a total of 92.3lbs without turning a wrench. I'm sure theres more low hanging fruit but I'm going to try and see if this makes a difference. Next project:Scanguage when budget allows and more weight reduction. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,Cam.
