When you get right down to it, a custom conversion is just that custom. Unless there is a related engine or body that uses the same engine, forget about it, and just choose the engine and tranny set up you want for the vehicle. In order of difficulty;

-Fabricating solid engine mounts
-Making room in the transmission tunnel/ Fire wall, if need be
-Fabricating new tranmission mounts
-Having a custom drive shaft made to accept the tranny of one car and the rear end of another.

Hopefully you'll choose an engine with minimal electronics to make that part easy. So find yourself a good welder and a junk yard with lots of engines and happy hacking.
