I bought a 323 1.6L 4-speed new in '86. I absolutely loved it. It handled like a sports car when it had some good tires on it. I got 38mpg driving like a crazed college student. Never had an issue with it except one morning it was 17 below and the cam seized and broke the cam sprocket. It was a minor repair but the one thing I didn't like was the one piece cam holder. You had to slide the cam in from one side instead of unbolting it. Other than that I often wish I still had it. You can get a 4X8 sheet of plywood in the hatch flat.
