The shades inside the door idea is used on the Citroen 6 model and possibly others.
Old Tele Man has it for the actual benefits of that type of shade.
I had a set fitted to my Renault 16TS all those years ago and they worked well for lessening the effects of high beam headlights from following cars at night as well.
They were mounted on the rear parcel shelf. When the hatch was opened they retracted when the hatch was closed they extended.
A clip held them at the top so they could be unclipped and stored when the rear parcel shelf was removed.
