A balance of trade issue when resolved places funds normally sent overseas directly into your local economy, where they are most effective.
I hate OPEC, so choking off their money supply is an effective expression of that feeling. Even if it is not their oil I am buying directly reducing the cost makes it less expensive for everyone.
That is not really enough though, my goal is eliminating them altogether.
Maintained a family (including wife's small SUV) average of close to 60 MPG ain't bad either, and keeping vehicle fuel costs below $200 per month.
