For people that aren't O2 geniuses like JOESEPH DAVIS, the first page of the Innovate Motorsports LM1 wideband O2 lambda cable has 2 warnings, one of them states,

"When installed in the exhaust, the oxygen sensor MUST be
connected and operating with the LM-1 whenever the car is running.
An un-powered oxygen sensor will be quickly damaged when
exposed to hot exhaust gases."

This is probably the same for any O2 sensor, not just their LM-1 unit. Take my advise, or not. JOESEPH DAVIS would have you believe i'm an idiot troll just trying to make him look stupid, but maybe I was trying to save some ecomodders wallet from buying another expensive O2.
