That car has popped up on this site a few times. It deserves it.
Originally they canned the prototype. Now that they are planning on doing limited production, I'd expect Europe to get access first. With a top speed of 80mph, low acceleration, and a light structure, I can't imagine the U.S. being a viable market in the near term.
Definately an awesome technology demonstrator and an example of the way I think transportation should be heading.
I think the use of exotic materials (carbon fiber, magnesium, titanium) aren't worth their cost. While they might have been necessary to break the 1L/100km mark and generate publicity, I'd much rather buy a significantly cheaper version that gets slightly worse mileage. Fiberglass and aluminum would knock the price of that vehicle down substantially.
