I realize that even though we are all Eco-Modders, we have different outlooks. I have owned 40plus car/trucks and probably a dozen different motorcycles, and when I was in my 20's, I bought different styles of bodies just for fun. But almost all of them had some growing collector value, so even not always getting all my money back was no big deal, because I was enjoying myself. Alltogether, I've only experienced new veh. depreciation about4 times, and never want to go there again. My freedom to use hard earned money as I see fit, precludes any peer pressure..got to have new nonsense that we all should have outgrown by Junior High! I know that an '80's car will meet my needs, and still del. fantastic mileage for yrs. from now! VW Quantum Diesel.. 53-low 70's are trip possible.. fun to have a custom project that is different... no depreciation, no high taxes, nothing beyond liability insurance needed... nice body for $200.... clean enough to look decent, but comfortable enough for homemade airdams, skirts...ie...personality, that no OEM will ever give you... I just wish I would have settled down on what really matters a little earlier... I don't want a newer veh. with Plumber's body side cracks, and a steering wheel w a bag that can explode in my face! this country is headed for dire economics, so high tech beyond reason will bite in the rear! We are all different... I just appreciate simplicity where possible w $$$$ freedom!
