Tyre pressure indicated by the car manufacturer are often too low.
If higher inflation spreads out the wear better, higher inflation can reduce tyre wear.
Obviously you need to check and monitor it over time.
At 3.5 bar / 51psi I'm finally seeing even tyre wear across the thread, in addition to reduced fuel consumption.
YMMV.
Aside from reduced rolling resistance, higher inflating leads to reduced tyre deformation, resulting in less heat in the tyres, and less heat means less wear.

That's something that every driver should do, regardless of the pressure in their tyres.
