Welcome minAirForce. I have never put up a construction description on this thread. Construction methodology would be best served by a video.
Basically, the Aerolid is constructed out of FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic).
The lamination schedule is one layer of one and one half ounce pressed fiberglass matt, then one layer 2mm Coremat, then one last layer of one and one half ounce pressed fiberglass matt. The roof also has some half inch urethane foam strips laminated in it for extra strength. Hope this helps.
I will say I have designed and built a modification to the Aerolid. Road tests are showing a consistant 25+ mpg! These tests have been conducted over the last three weeks over the same 200 mile route. My 2009 F-150, with it's 4.6 liter 3 valve per cylinder V-8, is rated at 20 mpg. I am seeing a consistant 25+ mpg at 70 mph. The Patent has been filed and hopefully someday there will be a reward instead of just all the work and legal fees. Aside from the legal fees, I love to build stuff anyway so it is not really work to me.
