I go to the dealership all the time with my weird questions and requests for odd little parts and I agree that you should not have to check up on the work that they are doing but it is worth checking up, just to do a quality control check of the service that you are paying for.
I am however confused as to why you have a mile long service record for this car that is basically brand new, with that many miles I would think that the service record would be short and show ten oil changes, two engine air filter changes, a cabin air filter change, maybe a valve adjustment, brake check and a new set of tires.
