Hello everyone! I have just purchased a 1995 F-150. It has a V8 and gets a whopping 15MPG! I have already over inflated the tires. And have been searching around the site about hypermiling automatic transmissions. It seems the general consensus is popping it into Neutral down hills will not kill the transmission.
However my question is this. Do these trucks use DFS or deceleration fuel shutoff? Or is that just on manuals?
I can't use my Scangauge II because as luck would have it, Ford didn't use ODB2 on my truck. I looked for half an hour. Then asked a friend and he said it came out in 1993, but wasn't mandatory till 1996.
Is there a way to convert ODB I to use the Scangauge?
The pin outs are listed on my truck on the following website:
Ford Fuel Injection » How To Run a Self-Test
Please note this truck is not my daily driver. I got it to haul stuff. I know its not designed to get the greatest MPG, but every bit helps!
