Of course if the engine is idleing you should be able to let it coast out of gear for hours without causing any issues, right?
My Honda's have, for the most part, ball bearings on all of the shafts and the little bit of oil that is in there should be able to handle running with the few drops of oil that is left after you shut the engine off.
