Used engine oil on paint would not be such a good idea. Not even so sure about the fresh stuff with it's additives these days. I used some brightly colored wash 'n' wax for flow "examinasion"
worked a treat. No chance of it interfering with my metallic paint. UV rays down here are ruining the last of my clearcoat without extra help.
