I often coast more than 30s with Teresa, both engine on and off, mostly with clutch in, rarely in neutral. I've been doing this for several tens of thousands of kilometers.
No problem so far, but she's a different bike, so it may not apply to the Ninjette (Teresa is a BMW F650CS).
