Unfortunately the accident avoidance system is largely the driver and attendent attention span and entitlement choices. If you are mashing on the pedal, mawing a burger, texting your lady from your 8 foot wide road hog, you are going to hit a few people.
Adding safety "features" to a car that already seems to have predominantly safe drivers won't really demonstrate anything.
