When people ask me about this, I say "max tire inflation pressure" only. If the tire is pretty old, I won't even recommend doing that because the tire is "used" to the lower pressure. That's not a scientifical statement, but I think you know what I mean.

The irony is that 300-350 PSI makes my recommendations look tame.
