The problem with direct injection is that the injectors are all are all different.

Ideally, I'd retrofit a common rail pump from a diesel for higher flow and bolt that up to solve fueling supply issues and take some much needed stress off the cam (fuel pump is cam-driven on the opposite side of where the cam chains up to the crank, inciting torsional stress on the intake side, which also has VVT).

Just went back through old threads where all the research was done and my injectors were made by Mitsubishi Electric. No aftermarket versions are currently available and in order to use a different manufacturer, I'd need to mill the head, make a new fuel rail and hope the driving requirements are the same.
