I worked as a field engineer for a construction company for about 10 years and for about 6 of those 10 years my '88 Escort was my work truck. If I needed to go from one side of the site to another I'd just throw the survey instruments and blueprints in the car and take off through the 2" dust or 6" mud (it's a manly car/truck). We also had a few company trucks that the supervisors or superintendent used for travel to and from work and for any employees use on the site if they needed it to move supplies. All other employees drove their own vehicles to the site and parked them in the employee parking area.
