The only red lights I've gone through were while cycling, and only at ped crossings, not at intersections, and only after fully stopping first to make sure that it'd be safe. And it's only happened a few times, at crossing where I know the light cycle, ie long green for peds even when no-one is around. If there are also cars stopped at that light, then I'll wait for the green (don't want to give drivers any anti-biker food).
