There isn't any interest here in the midwest either, it is just fringe. Building is strictly done out of love.

It is incredible to see the animosity between the various types of bicycle riders. I have showed up to rides on a recumbent and had acquaintances basically shun me even though they talked to me from when I rode with them on an upright.

I got into recumbents because of my interest in ultra distance events.

Depending on what you want there are some great home-built designs. That can copied.

Did you notice the spare tire that I was carrying in the yellow bike?
