wish I had a good answer for you, but I'm not sure about the stand alone strenght at the transition point. That being the point from which it adhears to your car surface to your choice of material for the kamm I know it holds up well on your cars finish, but I reaaly havent used it in place of tape. I agree about the messyness of duct tape, you got me curious now. maybe I'll use it to tape some cardboard on the back of my car with it as a test for you tommorow. Oh and I have used aftermarket internal antennas in the Detroit metro area before and was not to impressed with the reception. curious if the rear defrost would work. I'm sure some of the more tech savy electronic specialist that we have surfing EM would know. If only one of them would tell us.
