So, this is my first post to your forum. I've spent a lot of time reading, and I figured I'd post up what I've got and what I'm doing. I've got a 1990 Buick Lesabre with only 84k miles on it that I've bought for my wife to drive to Cleveland. Its about an hour commute one way, so I wanted something comfy, quiet and reasonable fuel mileage. Those things are hard to come by in a car, as some of my older hondas got great mileage, but were noisy and not comfortable.

Anyways, when we bought it we were getting a steady 24 mpg no matter where and how I drove it. I replced the melted coils and overheating ignition module as well as my plugs and wires and fuel filter. She took it on a road trip to Richmond, IN recently and got 27 mpg, and I was wondering why it was so low. She informed me that she spent the trip with the needle buried at between 80 to 85 mph. I laughed and told her to slow it down if she wanted better mileage.

So, the most recent couple of trips to Cleveland combined with light traffic and a lighter foot netted us a 29.5 mpg figure! I knew this car had a near 30 mpg in her, so I figured I would post up that figure here. I thought that wasn't too bad for a 6 passenger motorized couch!
