The 3 kW Enginer dc/dc would only add 10 to 12 miles of range to my EV per hour of run time (at 250 Wh per mile, probably 300 Wh/mile while pulling a 700 lb trailer). That's better than even a 20A 120VAC genset, it wouldn't pose any risk to my charger, it extends my range by over 30%, and a 48V boost pack on a trailer is probably the most economical range extension option (3000W out of 8 T-105 batteries would bring 'em down 80% in about two hours, or I can get used forklift batteries for dirt cheap). Only missing ingredient is an orphan 48 to 240 VDC converter. Enginer's newer 5KW dc-dc would add 16 to 20 miles of range per hour of run time, which would seriously increase errand-running utility!
