I have indeed. That only works when there's enough room to glide without battery crawl kicking in. This happens more often than I would like and once the battery drains, MPG goes bye-bye as the ICE insists on running (getting 5MPG in the process). In choked Boston traffic, it is often the case that the "glides" are too short to really help with fuel economy. Combine that with the HiHy's greater mass, higher drag coefficient and increased rolling resistance and the trick doesn't work nearly as well. It "works" in that using it to the best of my ability allows me to regularly turn in 30MPG (or fractionally under it). But cracking 35MPG seems to be out of the question.

Hilly terrain combined with poorly-maintained roads don't help either.
