I picked up a $5 paperback: How to get more miles per gallon! 104 pages of text relating 282 tips. It's an old book, (1978) so basically it mostly has to do w cars w carbs, but it is still useful.

The author is Robert Sikorsky. The Library of Congress Catalog Card # is 78-3973

St. Martin's Press

The better one by the same author is:

DRIVE IT FOREVER

which first came out in the late 1970's IIRC. I have read it a half-dozen times or more since then (thru early 90's), given it away, copied it, etc. A real help getting started (past magazine articles) back in the 1970's.

Both books may be slightly out-of-date or contain errors, but are written in an easy to remember style. A common sense approach.

Only in America do we park a pair of cars worth $70,000 outside of an insulated, weathertight garage built for them so that $1,800 dollars worth of used toys, bicycles and clothing can be "stored".
