My personal best is noticing ~7-8km from home that I can hear the brakes scraping b/c I haven't used them yet thus the discs have been cleaned by the pads.

Christ posted a while back that he sometimes stops by engine braking while holding the engine kill button. He also mentioned that this method has attracted the attention of police who saw him stop but didn't see the brake lights come on...
