I hope Vekke won't be hampered too much by this headlight precondition, as afaik in his native Finland, having your headlights on at daytime is mandatory.

One way to get around that would be to install LED daytime running lights. They would also reduce electrical load. My DRLs use only 11W, instead of ~200W for headlights, position, registration plate, dashboard lights
