Sorry forgot there was a question out there I was just looking up Tazio Nuovolary, the driver that Ferrari said was the best driver in the world, past present, and future. The story was that he was hired to drive the Auto Union hill climb racer with the preselector transmission, but he wasn't told that it had it, took him a lap on the track to figure it out, came by the pits first lap shaking his fist at them and the second time hanging out of the car waving at them happily. This anecdote from my ancient teenage memory.
