For inspiration I would look up lowrider pickups, seriously, these guys find ways to put more batteries in their vehicles for hydraulics than even electric cars ...
The space under the bed behind the axle is ideal for a custom made rack that can easily hold 8-10 marine cycle batteries, more if they are smaller, so thats why I voted S-10 .... Plus with no exhaust or spare, the room increases ..
